She is a former President of the New Chaucer Society. Ruth Evans has taught at Cardiff University, the University of Stirling, and Saint Louis University, where she is Dorothy McBride Orthwein Professor of English. He is currently completing a short critical biography of Kempe and working on English travellers in the eastern Mediterranean in the fifteenth century. He edited and translated The Book of Margery Kempe for Oxford World's Classics (Oxford University Press, 2015).
Anthony Bale is Executive Dean of Arts and Professor of Medieval Studies at Birkbeck, University of London.
